In the morning you will leave the harbour to head toward Florence to discover the ‘traditional craft side’ of the City. It all began in 1593, when Grand Duke Ferdinando I de ‘Medici decreed the transfer of goldsmiths, silversmiths and jewelers shops on the Ponte Vecchio, in order to control the security of these artisans work. Crisis periods and difficulties are certainly not lacking but the artisans are still there, scattered in many small workshops where they still work and create handmade products which represent the result of the people’s universal admiration. A pleasant guided walking tour in the historic center with stops to rub the nose of the statue “Porcellino”, as a wish of good luck! After the visit you will rejoin your travel means to return on board.
